Galentines At The Grand
Before Zac – I always hated Valentines Day. Not because I didn’t like that people loved each other but it just felt a little over the top. With hearts everywhere, candy, chocolate and flowers and a HUGE pressure on the guy to make one night special (one of the busiest date nights of the year).
However, now I love our valentines traditions. Including a new one this year – GALENTINES.
If Valentines is truly a celebration of love it only make sense that you should also spend the time celebrating your friends that you love! This year some of my cute girl friends put on a celebration of afternoon tea at The Grand America.
The tea and snack size meals were amazing – although I am not really a “proper” or “fancy” person it was such a blast to be treated and get to sample a dozen or so tiny dishes.
But in addition we did a favorite things party where each of us brought thee of the same item under $15 that we love and then drew names for who got which gifts.
I really love my ladies (these and so many others) and think especially once people get married, and start having kids we don’t spend enough time celebrating and cherishing friendships – mainly talking to myself.
Galentines is now my newest favorite holiday.
