Lake Powell

Although we have traveled around the world Lake Powell holds a special place in our hearts. There is nothing better than fully disconnecting from the world and being on a houseboat with two dozen people.

Relationships are formed and/or deepened immensely during a week at Lake Powell, and as we all know that is what makes traveling so invigorating. Think about the first time you did something, for instance when I went snorkeling with sea lions the experience was thrilling but now my memories are filled with my little sister flipping her fins and squealing as they swam under her, Zac diving down below us & @dukemoose shrieking with laughter. As with any trip the people make it. But more than anywhere else Lake Powell is no alone time, there is no “see-ya-later” close the door to your hotel room it’s everyone piling onto mats on the top of the houseboat at night, it’s family style dinners and showers in the lake.

Lake Powell is also one of the first places that I fell in love with Zac. He’s a bit of a different person in LP. He’s a wake up at the crack of dawn for glass water, a wakeboard and jets from sunup to sundown and a pass out with exhaustion at 8:30 at night. Zac has this deep passion for wakeboarding and before we even started dating officially I got to see this side of him and I was hooked.

For me, I feel a bit different at Lake Powell because my phone is often stuffed deep in my bag back at the houseboat while we tour around the lake and for the most part I like it that way. Until we took two jet skis deep into a canyon and watched the sun begin setting, one of the most beautiful moments and I couldn’t capture it as anything but a beautiful memory.

We frequently joke about just moving down to Powell for a full summer. But I am pretty sure if we did we would have the best summer ever.
