Rock Climbing in St. George

Rock climbing is the new razor scooter- when I was younger everyone, and I mean everyone, had a razor scooter. My brother and I used to save up to get accessories to make ours cooler. Wheels that were a different color, special handlebars, or glowing the dark accessories.

Today, that trend seems to be rock climbing. Last week I finally coughed up the cash to get my own gear (yay) for our trip to St. George.

But climbing isn’t the same as a razor scooter because you aren’t instantly good at it, in fact you are far from good at it at the beginning. Thankfully Zac knew just where to take me for some great top rope climbing in St. George.

It’s called the Turtle Wall (appropriately named because we found a cute little turtle on our way back from the wall).

It’s an easy 15 minute hike down to the wall. If you are driving into St. George from the freeway you take St. George Blvd to Bluff street then tale Bluff street north. You pass an intersection with Red Hills Pkwy. On your left you will see the Chuckwalla Climbing Area – take that pull out.

The Chuckwalla wall is only lead climbs- but really good lead climbs. So if you need to top rope it follow the trail for 15 minutes. You will see the climbing area on your left.

It wouldn’t be a real trip without Duke there to capture every moment. Thanks for tagging along and capturing some images @DukeMoose

Rock climbing, like my razor scooter is going to be sticking around in my life for a while. As will my addiction to Albion clothes (thats where this cute little floral workout outfit is from).
